David Joy

David Joy is chief market strategist and chairman of the Capital Markets Committee for RiverSource Investments, a subsidiary of Ameriprise Financial, Inc.

Joy serves as chairman of the RiverSource Investments Capital Markets Committee, which comprises the company's senior investment and economic leadership. As chair, Joy leads the development of the Capital Markets Outlook and is responsible for spearheading capital markets communications designed for use with retail and institutional clients. Joy is also a senior portfolio manager of the RiverSource® Portfolio Builder Series, which includes six strategic asset allocation funds.

Joy is a frequent guest on both CNBC and Bloomberg TV and has been widely quoted in various publications including The Wall Street Journal and USA Today.

Joy has 30 years of experience in the investment management industry. Prior to joining RiverSource Investments in 2003, he held senior investment positions at several industry leading firms including Pioneer Investments, Prudential Investments, Massachusetts Financial Services, and State Street Research.

Joy is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross. He received his master's of business administration from Boston College's Carroll School of Management.
