Ameriprise Financial and its Employees and Advisors Pledge More Than $4.6 Million to Nonprofit Organizations
Employee Giving Campaign kicks off with a $10,000 donation to Emergency Food Network, enabling fresh produce to be delivered to charities across Minnesota.
MINNEAPOLIS — (January 2, 2008) — Continuing a rich tradition of supporting communities across the country, Ameriprise Financial, Inc. (NYSE: AMP) partnered with its employees and financial advisors to pledge more than $4.6 million to nonprofit organizations through the company's 2007 Employee Giving Campaign. Employee and advisor donations totaled more than $2.3 million, and a dollar-for-dollar match by Ameriprise Financial, combined with other special events, resulted in the total pledge. The campaign's 74 percent participation rate and total donations topped previous company records.
Ameriprise Financial kicked off this year's campaign with a $10,000 corporate donation to the Emergency Food Network. As a result, the organization was able to receive three semi truck loads, or close to 135,000 pounds, of fresh fruits and vegetables from Arizona and Mexico. The fruit and vegetables, which were valued at $400,000, were distributed through a network of more than 150 hunger relief organizations and programs throughout Minnesota.
