Client fees
Now that my accounts are with Ameriprise Financial, can I expect any of the fees I pay to change?
Most of the fees you pay have stayed the same. However, there have been some fee changes related to your accounts moving to Ameriprise Financial. A few have increased, others have been reduced. Most of the fee increases are related to occasional, or one-time fees. Most of the decreases are for regular, recurring fees. See the charts below for an overview of the most common fees paid by our clients.
What fees have been be reduced?
Many common recurring fees have been reduced. These include client-placed equity trade fees (by almost one third), client-placed options trades (by 50 cents per share), IRA custodial fees (by almost 20%) and nonqualified account fees (by almost one-third).
Please see the table below for more details.
Have any fees increased?
Yes, several transactional fees that clients do not incur on a regular basis have increased. These include the order handling, late trade settlement, duplicate trade confirmation, duplicate tax settlement, legal transfer, stop payment, re-issue, limited partnership and account closing fees.
One fee that clients pay on a regular basis has increased: the nonqualified account fee has increased from $60 per year to $80 per year (paid at $20 per quarter).
