Overdraft Protection

Is there Overdraft Protection?

You can set up Overdraft Protection, our overdraft transfer service, by linking your Ameriprise Bank Checking Account to your Ameriprise® Bank Savings Account (“savings account”).6 Overdraft Protection will automatically transfer funds from your savings account to your checking account to cover transactions and payments. There are no overdraft or overdraft transfer fees. However, Overdraft Protection transfers count against the savings account limit of six transactions per monthly statement cycle, or each month if you have a quarterly statement cycle.

This service will automatically transfer funds in increments of $100 from your savings account to your checking account throughout the day if your checking account does not have enough money. If your savings account balance is less than $100, we will not make a transfer.
