What can I do with the Ameriprise app?

How do I download the Ameriprise app?

The Ameriprise Financial app is available for iOS and Android devices.

  

Keep the Ameriprise app updated as new features and functionality are added on a regular basis. 

How does Ameriprise safeguard my information?

The Ameriprise app has safeguards in place to help protect your accounts, just like the secure site on ameriprise.com:

  • Full account numbers aren't displayed.
  • Password aren't stored to your device. 
  • You can choose to store User ID and advisor contact information to your device.
  • We may occasionally ask you to enter a one-time passcode to verify your identity. 
  • Encryption and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology is utilized to mask sensitive information and ensure it is transmitted via a secure environment.
  • Session will log out after 5 minutes of inactivity.
  • Private information is automatically cleared from your device when logged out from the app.

In addition, help protect your information by following these steps:

  • Create a strong, complex password.
  • Always log out of the Ameriprise app after your session.
  • Use Message Center to communicate securely with your financial advisor.
  • Keep the Ameriprise app updated as the most current version will have the strongest security measures in place.

Can I register for online account access using the Ameriprise app?

Yes. Register for online account access by tapping "New User?" on the login screen. 

How can I reset my password if my User ID is locked?

To reset your password, tap “Forgot User ID or Password” on the login screen. For additional help, see User ID and password help

Can I view all my Ameriprise Financial accounts with the Ameriprise app?

Most active accounts can be viewed on the Ameriprise app. At this time, legacy bank accounts and $0 balance brokerage accounts are not displayed. 

Inactive and closed accounts cannot be viewed on the Ameriprise app. For the most complete view of your Ameriprise Financial accounts, access the secure site on ameriprise.com.

What kind of notifications will I receive from Ameriprise Financial?

When Ameriprise Financial app notifications are turned on, you will receive notifications for the following actions:

  • New secure messages 
  • Meeting updates and reminders 
  • New external bank account added 
  • Electronic signature requests 
  • Money transfer requests 
  • Insurance and annuity payment reminders 

To manage what actions you receive notifications for, go to the Ameriprise Financial app and navigate to Settings.

Why am I not receiving push notifications from the Ameriprise Financial app?

There are a few requirements for receiving push notifications on your device:

  • A device (tablet or phone) that has mobile data or is Wi-Fi enabled. 
  • The latest version of the Ameriprise Financial app downloaded to your device. 
  • A successful login to the Ameriprise Financial app on your device. 

Confirm your device is set up to receive push notifications:

  1. Within the Ameriprise app, navigate to the More menu and go to Settings. 
  2. From Settings, select Troubleshoot. Follow the Troubleshooting Push Notifications guide to confirm your device is set up to receive push notifications. 
  3. If you are still experiencing problems, please contact Customer Service at 800.862.7919.
How do I log out or end my session?

Log out at any time by tapping the Log Out button. Also, by default, you will be logged out of your session after 5 minutes of inactivity.
