2-Step Verification

2-Step Verification increases your account security by requiring both your password and a unique verification code when you log in. Even if your password is stolen or compromised, a verification code provides a second layer of security to help prevent unauthorized access. You can change the way you receive your verification code at any time in your Security Settings in Profile.

There are 3 ways to verify your identity with 2-Step Verification:

  1. Push notification. A verification code will be sent to your enrolled mobile device through the Ameriprise Financial app.
  2. Third-party authenticator app. A verification code will be generated through a third-party authenticator app on your mobile device. Cell service is not required.
  3. Text message or automated call. A 6-digit verification code will be sent to your enrolled phone number by text message or automated voice call.
