What kind of transactions can I do online?

With the secure site on, you can pay bills, review and print your account activity, confirm your checks have cleared and transfer funds between accounts.

How do I obtain more deposit slips?

You can download and print a deposit slip or request pre-printed deposit slips and postage-paid envelopes by calling us at 800.862.7919.

How do I order checks online?

To reorder checks, log into the secure site on Select your Ameriprise ONE Financial Account and choose "Order Checks" from the Available Actions drop-down menu. A new window will launch—just follow the simple instructions.

Please verify the accuracy of your order before submitting. If you have multiple Ameriprise ONE Financial Accounts, please pay close attention to both your Ameriprise ONE Financial Account number and your checking account number to ensure the checks are ordered for the correct checking account.

After submitting, you will receive a confirmation of the order and your checks will be delivered to the address printed on your current checks. Checks will be delivered in a blue-gray/non-descript plastic wrapped flat package that states ‘important documents enclosed’. If you would like to change the address appearing on the checks, the check style, or select other options, please call the Client Service Center at 800.862.7919.

How do I view and search for checks?

You can view checks you write from your Ameriprise ONE® Financial Account online. You can also print and save them to your computer for your records.

To get started, log in to the secure site on Select your Ameriprise ONE Financial Account and go to the Activity tab. To view a check listed in your transaction history, click the check number link in the Description field. This will display your check image, front and back. In the view mode you can zoom, rotate, print, and save to your PC.

To search for checks, choose "Search Checks" from the Available Actions drop-down menu to set your criteria, then click the search button. Click the highlighted blue link on each check listed to view that check. You may enter historical dates or search for specific criteria. Within the chosen date range, you may enter the check number, amount, or both in your search.

How do I wire funds to my brokerage account?

To wire funds to your brokerage account, the sending bank's instructions must specifically read:

How can I access cash?

With your Ameriprise ONE Financial Account VISA® debit card, you have access to more than one million ATMs in over 179 countries as well as 55,000 surcharge-free ATM locations nationwide. You can use your Ameriprise VISA® debit card at merchants and ATMs that display the following logos..

There is no surcharge for making cash withdrawals at ATM locations that bear the Allpoint network Alliance logo. Ameriprise does not charge a transaction fee for using an ATM. Certain financial institutions, however, and ATM operators may independently charge a fee for the use of their ATMs.

The Ameriprise ONE® Financial Account Visa® Card is issued under an agreement between Ameriprise Financial, Inc. and/or its subsidiaries (“Ameriprise”) and UMB Bank, n.a. The Card is the property of and issued by UMB Bank, n.a. pursuant to license by VISA U.S.A. Inc. PLUS® is a registered trademark of Visa.
Are there any limits on checking account transactions? Do transaction fees apply?

There are no transaction fees related to the Ameriprise ONE Financial Account. Check writing, and online bill payment are limited only by the available balance in your account. ATM access and debit card transactions have daily transaction limits. When you use your Ameriprise Visa Debit card with a PIN to withdraw cash or to initiate a PIN-based debit transaction at the point of sale, the following limits apply:

Standard maximum daily limits cash withdrawal at ATMs: $1,000 and signature and PIN/Chip-based transactions at point of sale terminals: $5,000

Certain limitations apply to your Ameriprise Visa® Debit card transactions through the Visa network, when a PIN number is not entered. Clients who get the card will receive more information with their card carrier. There are no fees for domestic purchases using your Ameriprise Visa Debit card. For international purchases, a Foreign Card Transaction Fee equal to 1% of the transaction amount will be assessed.

Can I use my Ameriprise Visa® Debit card as a digital wallet with my mobile phone?

Yes your debit card has digital wallet capabilities enabled and can be loaded on to your phone via a free app from  the App Store.

Eligible digital wallet pay options include Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Fitbit Pay and Garmin Pay

Does my Ameriprise Visa® Debit card have contactless capability?

If your debit card has the white wireless symbol on the front of your card, yes, your card is contactless enabled.  A contactless card allows you to make everyday purchases safely and securely with just a tap at any terminal or card reader with the contactless symbol. If contactless payment is not available, you can continue to insert or swipe your debit card as usual.

How do I request funds from my account?

Cash withdrawals can be requested by contacting us. Methods of withdrawal we offer:

  • First-Class Mail: we can send a check to your address of record at no cost
  • Overnight mail: we can overnight a check to your address of record for $25.00
  • Wire (domestic): wire funds to your outside bank account for $30.00.
  • International Wire: we can wire funds to your foreign bank account for $35.00. The receiving institution may also charge a fee. The minimum wire amount is $200. On the request we require:
    • Bank name
    • Bank account number
    • Bank SWIFT number or IRC number (international equivalent of ABA routing number)
    • Bank street address
    • Bank city and country
    • International Bank Account Number (IBAN)
  • Request funds to be sent electronically via ACH funds to your outside bank account  at no cost. This request can be completed online via the secure site on, or by working with your financial advisor.
How do I fund my account or transfer money from my outside bank into my Ameriprise ONE Financial Account?

You can fund online with the secure site on Simply follow these steps:

You can also send a check. If you are opening a new account, send your check along with your account application. Make your check payable to American Enterprise Investment Services.

  • Reference your account number in the memo line of the check.
  • For IRA contributions also include the year of contribution.

Transfer assets from another firm. Use our online Account Servicing Forms. The amount of time it takes to complete a transfer may vary. Full account transfers may take as little as 2 weeks or as long as 8+ weeks to complete. Partial account transfers can take longer.

Establish direct deposit of your paycheck or government payments. Direct deposit allows you to automatically transfer all or a portion of any payment you receive regularly—such as your paycheck or government checks—directly to your Ameriprise ONE Financial Account, Ameriprise brokerage account, Ameriprise® SPS Advantage account, and SPS Advantage with ONE Features account.

For accounts with ONE checking features: Whichever form you use, in most cases you can simply attach a voided Ameriprise ONE Financial Account check to the direct deposit form(s). Submit the check with the form to the payment originator. Do not mail the form to Ameriprise Financial.

For electronic depositing into your Ameriprise ONE Financial Account:

Note: Deposits made into the checking feature of your Ameriprise ONE Financial Account or SPS Advantage with ONE Features account will automatically be forwarded to your cash sweep option within the brokerage account.

For accounts without ONE checking features:
To set up direct deposit, be sure to provide the party issuing the payment (e.g. your employer, government agency) with the following information:

For government-related payments (e.g., Social Security):
Government agencies require use of special government forms. Please contact the appropriate government agency to receive the correct form. The Social Security direct deposit form (Form SF-1199A) can be downloaded at

Send in physical certificates. For your protection, we recommend you send in your certificates by certified mail only. Sign the back of your stock certificates and mail them to us at the address listed below. Or, call 800.297.5300 to request a Stock Power form to submit with your certificates. By having all your certificates held at AEIS, they will be readily available when you want to sell.

Can I designate my Ameriprise ONE Financial Account as a checking account in Quicken®?

Quicken® recognizes an Ameriprise ONE Financial Account’s cash management transactions as a checking account when you follow these steps:

  • From the Main Menu in Quicken, choose Tools > Accounts List.
  • Select your Ameriprise ONE Financial Account from your accounts list, then click the Edit button.
  • On the General Information tab on the Account Details window, choose “yes” to “Show cash in a checking account.” Quicken will prompt you to back up your data file.
  • Once the backup is complete, you will see an account created in Quicken with the same name you gave your Ameriprise ONE Financial Account, plus the suffix “Cash.” This account will appear in the “Banking” section, while your investment information remains in the “Investing” section. Click the OK button to save your changes.
How can I report a change of address?

To report a change of address, log in to the secure site on and click your profile link at the top of the page.

How do I report a lost or stolen Ameriprise ONE Financial Account Visa® debit card?
  • To report a lost or stolen debit card/PIN or to report unauthorized transactions, call 888.356.1006 (24 hours per day, 7 days a week).

Online Bill Pay

How do I pay bills online?

Paying bills online is easy, and you can set up one-time or recurring payments. To get started, log in to the secure site on, select your Ameriprise ONE Financial Account, then select "Bill Pay" in the Available Actions drop-down menu. The electronic bill payment service uses the Automated Clearing House (ACH) network to electronically transfer your payments from your bank account to the third party you owe on the date you specify. If a company or individual is not set up for electronic transfer, a check is sent to them via U.S. Mail, drawn directly from your bank account.

How do I set up payees in online bill pay?

From the online bill pay Payment Center, choose “Add a Bill”. You will need to provide the name of the payee, the address (city, state, ZIP code) and any relevant account number or other identifying information.

How should I schedule my online bill payments?

When you enter an amount, bill pay automatically displays the earliest date the biller will receive the payment. You can accept this date or change it.

Use the payment calendar in the Payment Center to determine the pay date you can select to pay your bill. The calendar shows:

  • The pay dates available in the current month. You can scroll to future months, if necessary.
  • The earliest date you can select for the biller to receive the payment.
  • The due date for your bill if you are paying an e-bill or if you set up reminders for the bill you are paying.

Remember to check your next statement to ensure that your payment was credited correctly.

How will my online bill payments be sent?

The payment will be made one of three ways:

  1. All-Electronic Payment: An electronic transfer to the payee account is made on the payment date you specify.
  2. Check Payment: The electronic bill payment service mails a check from your bank account to be delivered on the date you specify. The payee handles the payment as a regular paper check.
  3. Electronic-to-Check Payment: The electronic bill payment service mails a check drawn electronically from your bank account to payees who are not set up to receive electronic payments. The payee handles the payment as a regular paper check.
Are there any payments that are prohibited from being paid online?

The only payments we do not recommend making are tax payments and court-ordered payments.

How will I know what payments have been made?

Once a payment has been made, you will see it on your monthly consolidated statement. It will also appear in your payment history and account activity online. Keep in mind we only make payments you authorize. You are in control of your account at all times. If for some reason a payment cannot be made — for example due to insufficient funds in your account — we will notify you via U.S. Mail.

How do I make an inquiry on a bill payment?

You may inquire about a bill payment by calling our Customer Service Representatives at 888.356.1006. Please provide them with the check or bill payment number, the payment amount and the name of the payee.

How do I stop payment on a check that has been issued or I have written?

Because of the time-sensitive nature of stop-payment requests, we strongly recommend that you call our Customer Service Representatives at 888.356.1006 and provide them with the check number, the check amount and the name of the payee as soon as possible.
