Our leadership development programs (LDP) offer full-time paid positions with Ameriprise to high-achieving recent graduates. During the 18-24 month program, you will be placed in the line of business of your choice where you will rotate through various key areas. You will work on important projects to gain experience and leadership skills. Throughout the entire program, you'll have dedicated support from a senior leader.

Advice and Wealth Management Business Development
As a part of The Personal Advisors Group you’ll help drive profitable growth for approximately 10,000 financial advisors.
In this 18-month rotation program, you’ll gain valuable experience and industry knowledge as you complete three rotations through different departments, such as:
- Business development and advisor recruiting
- Advisor training and events
- Compensation, risk management, and other operational functions
The Personal Advisors Group accepts students from a variety of educational backgrounds, including business generalists who want experience in sales and business support strategies.
The Compliance Department consists of multiple teams that monitor, analyze and mitigate risk across both the field and the corporate office. In this 18-month program, you will have an opportunity to rotate through several teams, such as:
- Anti-Money Laundering
- Field Office Inspections
- Licensing & Registration
Columbia Threadneedle Investments is a leading global asset management group that provides a broad range of investment strategies and solutions for individual, institutional and corporate clients around the world. As part of the 24-month commitment, program participants will complete three 8-month rotations in the following areas:
- Portfolio Management
In addition to rotation specific responsibilities, participants will also be expected to participate in the CFA Charter program.
This three-year actuarial rotation program (two 18-month rotations) offers challenging assignments, including modeling and managing contingent and financial risk. You will have the opportunity to work in at least one of the following areas:
- Enterprise risk management
- Product development, management, and implementation
Ideal applicants have completed coursework in actuarial science, passed one or more actuarial exams and are pursuing a Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries designation.
Finance offers an experience in accounting/reporting, decision support and finance processes. As part of the 24-month commitment, you’ll be part of a cohort where you'll gain experience as you complete three 8-month rotations in the following areas:
- Utility (procurement, treasury, real estate, business planning and analysis)
Combine your finance and accounting skills on business projects involving our internal service providers and business processes.
The Human Resources Team consists of multiple Centers of Excellence that focus on attracting, retaining, and developing high performing talent to enable achievement of global business objectives. In this 18-month rotation program, you'll gain experience working towards one or more of our HR strategic priorities:
- Sourcing & Development
- Engagement & Retention
- Organization Effectiveness
Ideal candidates have completed coursework in human resources and organizational effectiveness.
Marketing and Communications
Explore the strategies and research required to market a powerful brand and to create compelling communications and digital interactions. In this 18-month rotation program, you'll develop critical skills as you complete three rotations in one or more of the following areas:
- Consumer marketing, insights and market segmentation
- Digital strategy and client acquisition, deepening and retention
- Corporate communications and media relations
Ideal applicants are creative, strategic thinkers with strong communication and project management skills. Business coursework is required, with a concentration in marketing, communications, public relations or journalism.

This 18-month rotation program offers valuable, on-the-job experience with exposure developing solutions to business area problems, identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities, and data analysis and reporting in these key areas:
